Shopify product video from a new product

When Shopify creates a product that has an image, OpenAI writes a motion prompt, Sisif renders the clip, and the file is added to the product. If the Shopify upload fails, the file is saved to Google Drive. Slack reports the result.

Shopify merchants who want a short motion video on each new product, without a video shoot.

Each clip is $1 for 5 seconds at 540x960. The workflow file is free.

How it runs

  1. 01

    New product

    The Shopify trigger fires when a product is created.

  2. 02

    Read the product

    The main image and the copy are extracted. A product with no image is skipped.

  3. 03

    Write the prompt

    OpenAI writes a short camera prompt for that product.

  4. 04

    Render

    Sisif renders the product photo as one clip of 5 seconds at 540x960.

  5. 05

    Poll until the clip is finished

    The workflow checks the clip until it is ready, failed, or refunded, or until that workflow's attempt limit.

  6. 06

    Attach or save

    The file is uploaded to the product with a Shopify staged upload. If that fails, it is saved to Google Drive.

  7. 07

    Notify

    Slack reports whether the video was attached, saved to Drive, or the render failed.

Setup

Import the JSON into n8n, then connect the credentials below.

  1. 01

    Create a Sisif API key

    Create a Sisif API key at https://sisif.ai/users/api-keys/ and save it in n8n as a Bearer Auth credential. Select it on Generate Video from Image and Check Video Status.

  2. 02

    Add a Shopify credential

    Create a Shopify custom app with read_products and write_products. A new app also needs write_files. Add a Shopify Access Token credential on the trigger, Create Staged Upload, and Attach Video to Product.

  3. 03

    Set Workflow Config

    In Workflow Config, set shop_subdomain (the part before .myshopify.com), shopify_api_version (a supported Admin API version, default 2026-07), drive_folder_id, and slack_channel.

  4. 04

    Add the other credentials

    Add OpenAI, Google Drive, and Slack credentials.

  5. 05

    Test, then activate

    Create a test product that has an image, check the run, then activate.
